of the Jose Luis Castillo-Diego Corrales rematch
at the Thomas & Mack Center; Vanes was very
impressive and scored two knockdowns in the 1st
round; Morales got up both times, but Vanes rocked
him with a series of punches and the referee stopped
the fight at 2:37…
On 9-10-05 in Los Angeles, CA, he won a 6 round
unanimous decision against Gerardo Cesar Prieto
(4-2-1): the fight was on the undercard of the
Erik Morales-Zahir Raheem, Manny Pacquiao-Hector
Velazquez co-main events that drew an announced
crowd of 10,584 to the Staples Center; Vanes gave
an impressive performance and dominated the fight;

Vanes dominated the fight; he scored a knockdown
