Rising junior middleweight prospect Vanes Martirosyan (21-0, 13 KOs), a 2004 USA Olympian clashing with the previously unbeaten Michael Medina (18-1-2, 14 KOs) in a 10-round bout. Martirosyan was in complete control of the fight and further established himself as a fighter to be on the look out for. After ten rounds, Martirosyan earned a unanimous decision with scores of 100-90, 97-93 and 98-92.

Unbeaten junior middleweight prospect Vanes Martirosyan will take another small step to a possible 2009 title run by taking on another fellow undefeated junior middleweight prospect, Michael Medina.

Martirosyan, with a record of 20-0 with 13KOs will put his record on the line against Mexico's Medina, who is 18-0 with 14KOs. The fight will take place on September 19 at Buffalo Bill's Star Arena in Primm, Nevada. Medina has been inactive since last December. This fight will mark the fourth for Vanes in 08, and he fought six times in 2007.

Martirosyan's original opponent Elco Garcia (20-7, 9KOs) has been suspended by the commission for undisclosed reasons which left the door open for this showdown of unbeatens. Telefutura will televise.
